Norwegian Air Shuttle, the second-largest airline in Scandinavia and the third-largest low-cost carrier in Europe, launches new route from Stockholm to Tel Aviv.
The number of people traveling from the Nordic region to Israel is on the rise, according to the Israel Government Tourist office for the Nordic and the Baltic countries. Last year tourism from Sweden increased by 20 percent.
“We are very excited about the new [airline] service and see great potential with Swedish travelers to Israel”, said Uri Taub, Tourism Attaché for the Israeli National Tourist Office.
Despite turbulence in the Middle East, the number of tourists going to Israel is booming. Last year, a record-breaking 3.5 million people came to visit the country.
This is the first time Norwegian is launching a new destination from a different city than Oslo. The new Stockholm - Tel Aviv route starts on 26 June.
